Azu Tiwaline - Canopée Imaginaire

With Canopée Imaginaire (and the rest of the album), Azu Tiwaline mixes the sparse percussion of North African music, electronic sensibilities and modern dub aesthetics. You can hear the echoes of other artists like Andy Stott and Shackleton drawing a throughline.
It's a sparse track. Hung together with fleeting melodic content and rich percussive elements and a lovely deep bass underpinning everything. Electronic rhythmic elements and variety of organic drums, shakers and other instruments pepper.
Beyond the sounds and instruments themselves the sound of the recording is wonderful—feeling spacious yet intimate.
Highly recommended.
