Jamie Woon - Missing Person

Undoubtedly one of the qualities of music that really draws me in is vulnerability. A glimpse of something that maybe you weren’t supposed to see. (See Tiny Listens #0003 for another example of this.)
There is something about this performance of Missing Person by Jamie Woon, that nails the feeling. Is it the ambient noise of a nearby music festival, the low-quality video, the floating camera drifting in and out of focus, the emotion of his singing and yet detached affect, the lyrics…?
All of it?
It all adds up to a very intimate performance that after sixteen years still sticks in my mind.
“I can tell you why I've been setting fire to the wires that entangle the world”
If you don’t know Jamie Woon, I highly recommend taking some time to check out his music.
