Moodymann - Got Me Coming Back Rite Now
Jazzy, groovy, housey, deep, sexy, sunny, funky.
There might be other words that describe Moodymann’s oeuvre, but not many better. And Got Me Coming Back Rite Now has it in spades.
It’s a thumping, slow (sluggish?) slo-mo house track with an undercurrent of sensuality via the chopped up vocals. And watch out for the beat-switch riddle throughout the track. Touches of soaring strings, the chugging beat and crisp hats / percussion make this a beautiful ride bursting with joie de vivre.
One can imagine this at an afternoon open-air party along the river (those were the days, right?). Bliss bliss bliss.
